Hi my name is Emily.
As I grew up I always knew I wanted to work with children, I love working with children and have a passion to provide each child with the very best education and care that they deserve. My childcare journey began when I did work experience whilst at school in the nursery which I attended when I was younger which lead to being offered a job of a nursery assistant for a summer.
When I left school in 2006 I went on to College to complete a BTEC National Diploma in Early years, level 3. After leaving college I worked in a local nursery for five months to put in to practice what I had previously learned. However, I decided that I wanted to study further and decided to go to university to do a degree; therefore I stayed as a member of the bank staff and worked alongside their team covering staff sickness and holidays. I graduated from university in July 2011 gaining a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. The last three years at university have provided me with a greater understanding of a child’s holistic development, alongside a broad variety of areas which include health, social and education of children from 0-8 in addition to the professional practice of practitioners and effective leadership and management. Whilst at university I completed seven different placements which included nurseries, mainstream schools, special needs schools, children centres and working alongside a health visitor.
I started as a member of the bank staff at Little Learners to work alongside the team providing each child with the best care and education that they deserve, following this I was offered a full time position as a nursery nurse assisting the room manager in the new 1-2’s room.
