News and Information

3/2/2012 > Hello

Well, what a busy January that has been...and we don’t see any signs of it being any less busy this month!

We are operating at close to full capacity now with availability very limited, we have a couple of baby room spaces and some before and afterschool availability, but spaces for children aged 1-5 years is very limited in deed. We are looking at the possibility of expanding, but we would need to plan this carefully and in a way that we remain our family, friendly nursery - so we are considering becoming two nurseries rather than one big one...so watch this space!

We have a big charity event on Saturday 18th February...’I’m a Little Learner...Keep me in here!’ Jungle themed fun with challenges and surprises! It is not one to miss! All children and parents of the nursery invited - see your child awarded with a special achievement certificate! Tickets are £3 and all money raised will go towards our charity - The British Heart Foundation. We have less than £800 to go to reach our target of £1000!

2/1/2012 > Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everybody!

2011 was an amazing year for us and here’s hoping for another in 2012! Our nursery has gone from strength to strength and we thank everybody for their support and are very overwhelmed with how busy we have become! We will start to see some vacancies for the baby room and 1-2’s room over the next couple of months - but do not hang about, if you would like a place for your child - book it now - we are already taking 2013 bookings for babies who are not even born yet!

We look forward to re-opening tomorrow after a nice break over Christmas - and of course we will be celebrating our first birthday! Having lots of flash-backs from this time last year - how things have changed! (and will continue to do so, to ensure we are continually developing the nursery)

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2012.

23/12/2011 > Merry Christmas

We have had a wonderful first Christmas at Little Learners! We have been very busy with our second Parent’s Evening, our First Nativity Play, our Christmas Party, our Christmas meal, our visit from Santa and not forgetting the beautiful Christmas art work!

It has been a lovely, magical time and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

13/11/2011 > Availability

WOW- we are so overwhelmed at how busy our wonderful nursery is - it’s all down to our fabulous staff of course, but seriously - WOW!! :)

I never even dreamed of us being so busy this early on! Thank you to everybody for your continued support - it means so much!

Unfortunately this means our vacancies are very limited now for all age groups. We do still have some spaces for our out of school club and in January we have one baby room space and 2 more in March - but we do not have vacancies for long - so make your move fast!

1/11/2011 > Our First Halloween

Wow, what a crazy, spooky but fun day! The party was great in the afternoon, but wow - the owls were brilliant! All the children who wanted to got to stroke and/or hold the owls and the owls were very good! Great day! Here’s a few pictures!

30/10/2011 > Happy Halloween

Looking forward to the visit from Countesthorpe Owl sanctuary tomorrow morning! The children will even be able to hold the owls with gloves on! :)

Lots of halloween fun in the afternoon with our party and we are looking forward to all children and staff dressed up in their spooky outfits!

8/9/2011 > First week of the new term

Wow - what a busy week!!

It has been great to see our pre-school children return after the summer holidays, we have missed them! A few of our children have started school this week (some of whom are attending our out of school club so we get to find out how they have enjoyed it) but others we wish them lots of luck and hope they come to visit us soon!

Our new room opened and our out of school club moved into the hall and we have had endless amounts of nursery tours - unfortunately we do not have enough spaces for the amount of children that have recently been to look around, so it will be on a strictly first come first served basis, so don’t hang about!

Our spaces for children aged 18 months - 3 years are currently VERY limited and our 3 year old vacancies are also becoming limited. After quite some time of having no baby spaces, we currently have some baby room vacancies and these vacancies increase in November, however, we have had a lot of interest, so catch them while they’re hot! We also have a few vacancies for children who have recently turned 1 year.

We cannot recommend enough that you need to book your child’s place sooner rather than later, we already have bookings for January and are now even taking some for March and April. We have a lot of enquiries where the child is to start the following week and this is usually impossible, not only because of our availability, but also because it does not allow time for a thorough settling in period. We do not like to disappoint, so please act quick!

Last, but certainly not least - a big welcome to all of our new children and staff - so many new faces! :)

5/9/2011 > New Room

Our new room is opening today which provides us with an extra toddler room to cope with our demand! The room looks great and special thanks goes to members of our team who came in on a Sunday to help set it up and get it ready! Places are still very limited though, so don’t hang about if you want a place at our beautiful nursery! Early bookings give you the best chance of an available place!

(Photos do not do it justice! And we are looking forward to the children’s beautiful artwork decorating the walls! Watch this space....)

Our out of school club is also looking great in the school hall directly above and accessed via our nursery! Currently doing pick ups from Studfall Infants, Rockingham Primary, Oakley Vale and Danesholm. (And of course Our Lady’s)

19/8/2011 > Farm Trip

We had our first farm trip today to West Lodge Farm Park in Desborough. We filled a 76 seat double decker coach and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lots of parents came along too and luckily we had beautiful weather, so it was the perfect day! Lots of tired children and adults at the end of the day!

We watched the piglets racing, had rides on the barrel ride, looked at all the animals and fed them, stroked the animals in cuddle corner and met Morris the Pig.

27/7/2011 > Graduation Day

A lovely graduation day today - fun party, great food, fab cake and adorable ceremony with our school leavers in their graduation gowns! Good luck at big school...we will miss you so much!!

26/7/2011 > School Leavers Graduation

We are very sad to have to say good bye to our 3 school leavers! We will miss them so much! We decided to make a keepsake wall on our nursery entrance, where we take the hand prints of all of our children (and the staff) so we can always keep them with us! :)

We are holding a Graduation party and Ceremony tomorrow, tissues at the ready!

13/7/2011 > Sports Day

This morning we had our first sports day in partnership with Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Primary School.

It was a great success - all the children, staff and parents really enjoyed it! I think this will most definitely be a yearly event, it is really great to join in with Our Lady’s Schoool!

11/7/2011 > Art Easels

The children LOVE our new outdoor art easels...

7/7/2011 > Parents Evening

We had our very first parents evening today. It was a huge success and it was evident how hard all of our team have worked getting prepared!

Parents were able to have a look at some of the activities we provide and find out what children benefit from these activities and in our toddler room, parents were even able to view video recordings of their children engaged in heuristic play sessions! (And our parent goody bags included a handout explaining what heuristic play is!)

All children had a summary report of their progress during their time with us, which was discussed during the parents one to one time with their child’s key person. Note to self - next time, our one to one appointments need to be longer than 15 minutes!! :)

5/7/2011 > OFSTED

We can finally shout it from the roof tops, our ofsted report it now published and we are delighted to announce that we were graded OUTSTANDING in every single aspect!

Thank you to my FAB team for all of their hard work, dedication and passion - I am so pleased that you all genuinely care about my nursery and most of all - the children! You work so hard to ensure all children’s individual needs are met and you plan some extremely good learning experiences for them!

2/6/2011 > OFSTED

We will be smiling from ear to ear for a very long time as we have today had our very first ofsted inspection! We cannot tell you of the result until our report is published, but we can say that we have done very well! :)

23/5/2011 > Guess who’s back!

I am back to work a couple of days a week, spending the rest of the week with my gorgeous baby boy - who is growing so quick!!

I am loving being a mummy - it is the best job ever, I have however, missed the nursery and I am enjoying being back two days a week!

16/4/2011 > Open day and Easter Egg Hunt

Wow - we had a very busy day and the nursery looked amazing!

Lots of new interest for the nursery and a fun day for all!

27/3/2011 > Update and news of our Easter Open Day

Wow - what an amazing but very busy 3 months!

The nursery is looking great and is getting very busy, very quickly and we are already applying to OFSTED to extend the number of children under the age of 2 years we can take. Hence, if you are considering booking a place for your child, please do so in good time to avoid disappointment!

The children are having lots of fun, getting stuck in with lots of thoughtful activities set by our wonderful team, which have been specifically planned to further enhance each child’s learning and development.

We are holding an Open Day on Saturday 16th April along with an Easter Egg Hunt - so come and join the fun between 10:30am and 4:30pm.

Lots of activities will be available along with tours of the nursery and a buffet lunch!

We look forward to seeing you there!

17/3/2011 > Baby News

Nursery Manager Sam White has had her beautiful baby boy named Jake Dylan Evans, weighing 8lb3 born on 10/3/2011. We look forward to introducing Jake to the children, parents and staff soon!

25/2/2011 > Update and a Farewell for now!

Sorry we have not updated this page for a while - as you can imagine we have been so busy! We have been concentrating on settling all of our new children in with our home visits and taster sessions and our staff have developed really good relationships with the children (and parents!).

I am leaving today for my maternity leave and my baby is due a week tomorrow - lets hope he shows his face on time! :)

I leave the nursery in excellent capable hands and I know that everybody will look after the nursery and continue to develop it!

Thank you to my ever growing, fantastic staff team who have done me very proud so far!

7/1/2011 > First week

WOW - what a busy but fun first week! :)

All the children have settled really well and have been enjoying some fascinating activities! We have more children starting in the next few weeks and look forward to welcoming them to join our adventure!

Huge thanks to our wonderful staff team who have worked very hard and are implementing my quality approach to childcare very well! Couldn’t have done it without you all!!

4/3/2011 > Grand Opening

We finally open our doors today, after all the hard work and excitement!! Eeekk!!
