Hi, I’m Shona and I am the Toddler Room Manager at Little Learners Childcare.
My childcare career began in 2006, when I started my NVQ level 2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development apprenticeship at a newly opened nursery in Corby. I absolutely loved working whilst I learnt and I feel the time spent doing this was the most valuable for me. After completing my level 2, I quickly went on to complete my NVQ level 3 at the same nursery, continually learning and progressing. During my time there I learnt the importance of providing the best possible learning opportunities and care for children in their early years. I worked there for over 3 years and gained a sound knowledge of the EYFS and the importance of recording and observing each child in order to meet their needs as an individual.
I am extremely excited to be part of the Little Learner’s team and can’t wait to bring my ideas to the nursery as a whole, as well as develop and progress the toddler room. I feel the children are of the most paramount importance; they need to feel nurtured, happy and confident in order to settle and learn and I will strive to achieve this. Luckily my new role as room manager enables me to pass on all I have learnt to my supporting staff and act as a positive role model for them to follow. We will all be working together to provide the very best childcare and I am so pleased to be a part of the Little Learners team!
